UNISON supports the bill, which aims to address the significant challenges faced by private renters, but calls for additional measures to protect tenants, including:
extend protection period; require landlords to register intent to sell or move to deter backdoor evictions; cap in-tenancy rent increases; prohibit discriminatory practices; and fund local authorities to enforce housing regulations.
