Campaign and political funds
We campaign politically, nationally and locally for a fairer society, high-quality public services, and better pay and support for the people we represent
Part of our role is to ensure that the issues that matter to our members are part of public and political debate. Under law, a union can only fund political campaigns by having a dedicated political fund that members can opt to pay into or not.
At general elections and other key ballots and campaigns, we can use our fund to promote our campaigns for quality public services, fair pay and social justice.
We’ve divided our fund into two parts: the UNISON Labour Link, our affiliated political fund; and the campaign fund, which is not affiliated to any party. When members join, they are asked if they want to pay into one fund, both funds, or neither.
