Countering misinformation on net zero and climate change
Misinformation, disinformation or outright lies about climate change and net zero are being deliberately peddled by people who benefit from stopping progress towards a climate resilient future that benefits all.
Political parties, media figures and think tanks across the UK accept money from fossil fuel industries that cause climate change, and regularly repeat these lies for their own interests. While we know that countering firmly held beliefs with facts is not the most effective approach to changing someone’s mind, it’s important to be equipped with accurate information and solid evidence.
UNISON commissioned an independent external report from the Labour Research Department (LRD), to uncover the truth behind these lies, backed up with extensive references, robust evidence and links to more information. Read the full report below.
