The government published the White Paper on reforming the private rented sector in June 2022 to address the power imbalance between landlords and tenants.
UNISON welcomes the proposals to simplify and regulate the system. It is time for the government to deliver on its promises by bringing the proposals into law. The proposals also need to include measures to address housing affordability to stop landlords from raising rents exponentially.
