Northern: Organising for health and safety – Stage 1
IN-PERSON 9.30 – 4.30pm
Stage 1 of the essential course for new health and safety representatives is Organising for Health and Safety. You will learn about health and safety legislation, including the law relating to risk assessment, and also your employer’s responsibilities.
It will help you work with members to tackle workplace issues and develop your confidence to represent them effectively. You can complete follow-on training on topics such as display screen equipment, manual handling, mental health at work, and more.
You will need to attend stage 2 training to become a fully trained health and safety rep.
You can apply to attend stage 2 at the same time as stage 1.
Stage 2 training takes place on 23-24 November 2026.
