Utter devastation in Beirut: MAP’s emergency response
Date posted:
6 August 2020
Beirut is a scene of utter devastation today in the aftermath of a massive explosion at Karantina sea port that sent shock waves across Lebanon’s capital yesterday afternoon. At least 100 people are reported dead and 4000 wounded.
So far, hospitals have been flooded with casualties and it is expected that the toll will rise further as search and rescue efforts are ongoing with many people still missing and possibly trapped under rubble.
MAP is responding by getting urgent medical supplies into the hands of doctors treating the injured at Palestine Red Crescent Society Hospitals.
