The Somerset Local Government and Community Branch is a busy branch of nearly 6,000 members mainly in local government, schools and care providers.

This role will principally be supporting members outside the core council.
Skills/experience required:


  • Advising, supporting and representing individuals and groups in formal procedures
  • Dealing sensitively with people who may be upset or angry
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Understanding of employment law basics
  • Understanding and commitment to UNISON’s objectives
  • Use of cloud-based software systems
