Help your branch

Whether you want to take on an official role or just lend a hand informally, there are lots of ways to participate

Why get active in your branch?

Branches are the building blocks of the union, they are made up of members working for the same employer or several employers in the same area. Within each branch there are members with democratically elected positions, as well as other members who help out in an informal way.

Getting involved in your branch offers a chance for you to help build and maintain a strong UNISON. It can provide you the opportunity to influence UNISON decisions and activities at local, regional, and even national levels.

There are a diverse range of roles and each helps make a difference for members. You can get involved in less formal ways through being an active member or take on a formal branch officer position, where you can often develop a range of new skills and experiences.

For further information, complete the expression of interest form, or members can contact their UNISON branch directly for a chat about local opportunities.

Whatever role you chose to take on, you’ll receive free training and support
