Campaign for change
From speaking with colleagues to distributing materials or attending an event, you can help change lives by supporting UNISON campaigns on local and national issues
Stand up and be counted in our campaigns
UNISON is Europe’s largest public service union. We believe the UK public deserves high-quality public services, and because we work in them, we know when we need to campaign to save and improve them.
There are lots of ways to get involved in campaigning at UNISON. Most campaigns have a variety of actions designed to influence key decision-makers in support of UNISON aims. And the more members that get involved, the better our chances of winning.
Campaign activities can include speaking with colleagues, helping organise workplace or public meetings, handing out leaflets, taking part in online actions, lobbying politicians or joining a march.
Campaign on a local issue
If there is a local issue that will affect lots of people in a workplace or local area, chances are your UNISON branch will be campaigning on it, or will be interested in taking up the campaign.
From the closure of the local library, to the cutting of staff and services, or plans to change the hours of work for staff that could affect your local services, if there is a problem in your local area contact your branch now.
Campaign on a national issue
When issues affect large numbers of UNISON members, we use our size, industrial strength, and political influence to campaign.
Often that means campaigning with members of the public, service users, and other allies to protect the interests of our members and the services they provide and ensure that politicians and other decision makers understand the importance of public services to local communities, and the vital work our members do.
Contact your local branch or look at the website for your regional UNISON to find out more about campaigns you can support.
