Ambassador Programme
Volunteer in your branch to help promote anti-racism, challenge discrimination and embed inclusive practice in the workplace
Equipping members to become anti-racism advocates
The UNISON Ambassador Programme is a training initiative, often in partnership with organisations like Show Racism the Red Card, that aims to educate UNISON members on specific topics like anti-racism and immigration myths.
Participants learn about a subject and gain the skills to become advocates, challenge discrimination, and promote anti-racist work within the union and their workplaces. These programs typically involve a series of sessions spread over several weeks.
Sessions may include a mixture of presentations, inspirational speakers, and group work via breakout rooms. They are designed to give activists an increased understanding of anti-racism activism, extend their knowledge of what racism is and how it impacts on individuals (both targets and perpetrators) and society.
Contact your local branch for more information about taking part in future sessions.
