This course is aimed at Health and Safety Reps and Branch Activists to;
- Examine what we mean by 'mental illness'
- Look at what employers can do to maintain mental health at work
- Identify some of the common signs and symptoms of poor mental health in the workplace
- Discuss and explore strategies for intervention and support for members experiencing mental ill health
- Understand what causes stress doe us in our union roles
- Review strategies for coping with stress
UNISON recommends this course as a basis for all other mental health training. This course provides an introduction to mental health at work and would not be suitable for reps who have already completed other mental health training such as Mental Health First Aid MHFA Training.
